The Need
Why early childhood education needs more than healthcare
Anganwadi centres are a vital part of India’s Ministry of Women and Child Development, primarily focused on health and nutrition, with a critical need to expand their role in early education and holistic development.
Today, pre-primary education often gets insufficient attention. Centres face infrastructural challenges and lack access to trained teachers who can deliver early childhood education effectively.
NCERT research shows that a lack of an enriching environment between ages 0 and 6 can significantly hinder brain development - often in ways that are difficult to reverse.
About the Program
Building Anganwadis into joyful spaces of play and learning
The program transforms Anganwadi centres into clean, lively, well-equipped spaces designed to maximise the impact of the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) framework.
Our ECCE approach focuses on improving the quality of preschool learning and engaging parents, caregivers and local communities, so the work continues beyond centre walls.
