Foundational subjects, taught at each child's pace
Our academic programs are built around level-based learning, structured assessment and a deep belief that every child can master a subject if they get the right support at the right pace.
Program 01 — Math
Mastery, not just syllabus completion
The Need
Large classroom sizes often leave little room for individual attention, causing students to move through the syllabus without strong conceptual understanding.
About the Program
We support classroom Math with level-based learning, customised content and hands-on materials so students can learn at their own pace.
Extras
The annual Math-a-thon helps students apply concepts through fun, practical problem-solving activities.
Measured through formative and summative assessments.
Program 02 — English
From rote learning to real fluency
The Need
Most students are first-generation English learners with limited exposure outside school, making spoken English and confidence difficult to build.
About the Program
The program develops Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills with strong vocabulary focus and contextual learning across subjects.
Extras
Assembly activities and the annual English Fest help students practice public speaking, celebrate progress and build confidence.
Measured through formative and summative assessments.
Program 03 — Kannada
A remedial program for the language they live in
The Need
Many students struggle to read grade-level Kannada, especially those who speak other languages at home and have limited exposure outside school.
About the Program
The program is remedial and self-paced, starting from Varnamaala and progressing to paragraph reading through interactive worksheets, poems and storytelling.
Extras
Kannada spelling competitions make literacy practice engaging while building reading and writing confidence.
Measured through formative and summative assessments.
Program 04 — Project Sputnik
COL's in-house digital learning program. Built during a pandemic. Still going
The Need
During Covid, Government school students had limited access to structured digital learning. Sputnik was created to bridge that gap.
About the Program
Sputnik is COL’s digital learning program for Classes 1–10, built for basic smartphones using accessible platforms and curriculum-aligned content.
Extras
The program includes visual Math aids, audio-supported English lessons and dashboard-based tracking to monitor student engagement and progress.
Engagement measured via student submission patterns and YouTube data.
Holistic Development
Beyond the syllabus, into life
The classroom isn't the only place children learn. Our holistic development programs run alongside the academic ones, building physical, creative, social and emotional skills.
Program 05 — Sports
Fitness, teamwork and the confidence that comes from growth
The Need
Sports are often deprioritised in Government schools due to limited facilities, equipment and trained coaches.
About the Program
Students receive structured training in multiple sports through our partnership with Sportz Village Foundation, helping build fitness, teamwork and confidence.
Extras
City-wide tournaments and the annual Sports Day give students opportunities to compete and showcase their progress.
Measured via Fitness Quotient (FQ) and Socio-Emotional (SEL) assessments.
Program 06 — Art and Craft
Creativity that strengthens focus, confidence and learning
The Need
Most Government schools lack dedicated art teachers and resources, causing creative learning to take a backseat.
About the Program
The program develops creativity, fine motor skills and focus through hands-on activities that also reinforce Math and English concepts.
Extras
Collaborative projects encourage experimentation, creativity and better academic retention through activity-based learning.
Measured via summative assessments.
Program 07 — Value Education
Lessons beyond the syllabus that shape everyday life
The Need
Life skills and value education are often missing in Government school classrooms despite their importance in holistic development.
About the Program
Sessions combine guided meditation, storytelling and real-life discussions around kindness, dignity, empathy and self-respect.
Extras
Interactive discussions and games encourage students to think critically, ask questions and apply values practically.
Focused on empathy, teamwork, conflict resolution and critical thinking.
Program 08 — Extracurriculars
Annual events and starter kits that turn programs into a year-round experience
COL supports holistic student growth through academics, sports, arts and cultural activities. Each program includes signature events like the Math-a-Thon, English Fest, Sports Day and Sinchana - our annual cultural celebration for all students.
At the start of every academic year, students receive Starter Kits with uniforms, shoes, bags, notebooks and essential stationery so every child begins the year fully prepared.
