The Need
Why academic support is non-negotiable
The Right to Education Act covers students only up to age 14. Beyond that, economic pressures and limited college infrastructure lead to high dropout rates. Many of our students are also navigating barriers we don't always see - family obligations, social pressure, safety concerns and the pull of short-term income over long-term opportunity.
When students from stressed socio-economic backgrounds leave school, they often settle for the first available job rather than the right one. They don't always know what's possible. Or who to ask.
COLA exists for the years that no policy covers - where sustained trust building and support can change a young person’s trajectory.

The COLA team periodically tracks the education and employment status of every student in the COLA database. Students are categorised so we know who needs what support, when. The Red and Green categories help us identify which students would benefit most from skilling programs — but any COLA student can opt in, regardless of category.

COLA organises regular alumni meets across different student categories. These events are where networks form, experiences are shared and current students find mentors who've walked the same path a few years earlier.
It's the cradle-to-career model coming full circle: yesterday's students becomes tomorrow's guides.
